Holistic healing is a very ancient science dating back to at least 5,000 years and has originated in India and China. The holistic healing practitioners propagated the idea of healthy way of living, which truly living harmony with nature. The great philosopher Socrates, who lived four centuries prior to Christ’s birth recognized this idea and has suggested that we should take
body as a whole and not by part by part. The term holism was introduced by Jan Christiaan Smuts in 1926 as a way of viewing living a whole life and viewing the body as greater than the sum of their parts. Holistic medicine became more recognized through 1970s to the current time and has become one of the accepted methods of alternative medicine.
