Holistic medicine states that health is more than just not jut the absence of disease. It is combination physical, metal, emotional social and spiritual well being. Holistic medicine is based on the very basic law of nature that states that whole is made up of interdependent parts. Holistic medicine goes one step higher and suggests that whole is more than the sum of its parts. A person is a whole made up of interdependent individual parts, which are the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. When one part of the body is malfunctioning it disrupts all other parts of that person. This is comparable to the working of an automobile, if one part of the automobile engine malfunctions, it not only effects the working of the malfunctioning parts but causes wear and tear of the all the other related parts. The whole person, including all of the parts, is in constant interaction with the nature and the environment. For if one person undergoes a stress related to a broken relationship, that
disrupts the whole body causing physical ailments like headache or stomach ach and psychological symptoms like anxiety, fear, and feeling of helplessness. and example, when an individual is anxious about a history exam or a job interview, his or her nervousness may result in a physical reaction--such as a headache or a stomach ache. Those people who suppress anger and frustration about his or her job or marital relationship over a long period of time, they often develop a serious illness like migraine headaches, emphysema, or even arthritis.|
Holistic health is not a static process but instead is an ongoing process. It is a way of life and heavily depends up on personal commitment to be moving toward the right end of the wellness continuum. Irrespective of their current status of health, any one can make marked improvement in the level of their well being by adopting the techniques of holistic health.
