Mayo Clinic to Host Conference on Current Issues in Cancer Care

What: The goals of this conference are to provide the latest information and research on lung and breast cancer; to discuss the epidemic of obesity and its complications related to cancer diagnosis and treatment; and to highlight the importance of sustaining hope when living with cancer.

Who: Janis Amatuzio, M.D., a forensic pathologist and author of Forever Ours, gently explores the mysterious realms of visions, experiences and communications by families at the threshold of the death of their loved ones. She is an expert trained in looking at patterns of disease behavior, injury and ultimately patterns of living.

Known as the "compassionate coroner," Dr. Amatuzio has practiced forensic medicine for nearly 25 years. In the course of her work, she has heard extraordinary stories from grieving family members, patients near death, police officers, clergy, and his colleagues -- stories of the spiritual and other worldly experiences concerning the transition between life and death. Dr. Amatuzio will present at 8:30 a.m.
